We can offer the following services to home or businesses users within the Northern isles (Yell/Fetlar/Unst) straight away:

·         PC Maintenance and repair using MicroScope 2000 hardware state analysis tools.

·         Windows Operating System fault investigation. Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP. Vista, Windows 7 -  Mac, Linux etc are not supported at this time. Customers are asked to note that during fault investigation NII Technical staff may require authorised operating system and/or program discs to be produced.

Technical Qualifications

 

Ian Richardson joined the RAF in 1974 as a Ground Communications fitter. Saw service working in Airfield Nav Aid support, Tactical communications, Trade Training, and Air Defence data Network support. He left RAF service in 2004 with the rank of Chief Technician. 

Since 2000 a considerable part of Ians work load concerned Information Technology (IT). This included Training and local Course design, equipment maintenance (Workstation & Server Win 98/NT4.0/Win2000/WinXP OS), network administration, and procurement.

 

These tasks included: 

 

Maintenance, of all IT assets on site.

Future projects, including server upgrades, Terminal services implementation, and drawing up proposals for a Citrix based architecture.

Procurement, budgeting for existing and projected costings.

Training, deciding on and implementing RAF training requirements either locally or via our preferred supplier Interquad PLC.

Security, co-coordinating  Mcafee / Reflex Magnetics mixed approach. Setting Local Security Policy.
