An Introduction to the Company: The Team
The unexpected and locally devastating consequence of the decision to reduce RAF Saxa Vord a UK Air Defence base situated in Northern Shetland to a care and maintenance status was the catalyst from which North Isles Industries (NII) Ltd emerged. In a very short space of time the company directors and their advisors drew up a business strategy that attracted considerable capital investment and consultative assistance from local development agencies. This has resulted in a robust long-term economic plan and a reputation for thoroughness and innovation that has stood us in good stead in our first 2 years of trading.
To date the project has:
Arranged for an existing Printing agency to relocate to the Island of Unst and consequently employ 4 people full time and a further 1 part time
Set up facilities to offer professional PC Maintenance & Repair with associated IT advice were practical to the Northern Isles. This includes reselling Lenovo PCs to local clients.
Our corporate philosophy revolves around the continual drive to create employment opportunities in support of a stable population base. We believe this can be achieved through closer local business integration, economic realism and professionalism. On these foundations the company began operating from our new business premises on Unst Airfield as of 01 April 2006.
We hope this short introduction will serve to offer a taste of how NII means to function.
